Starting today you’ll be creating client websites with Brizy even faster if that’s possible. We’ve added a bunch of keyboard shortcuts that will improve the speed you work with Brizy and make your life much easier when it comes to copy-pasting styles, duplicating content and more.
Here is what you’ll find in this article. Use the links below to jump to a specific section:
The Shortcuts Overlay
Keyboard shortcuts are great and you’ll need a way to see the possibilities so we’ve crafted this cool keyboard layout that you can display anytime in Brizy by pressing (cmd+? for Mac or Ctrl+? for Windows).
Not only that but overlay is adjusting itself to display all the modifier keys based on your operating system (MacOS or WindowsPC).
Mac overlay (Cmd + ?)
PC overlay (Ctrl + ?)
Cool Things To Know
The Right Click – the improved right-click we’ve added in this update will also reflect part of the shortcuts so you can use them via the right click.
Column shortcuts – you can apply shortcuts on the column container directly from the element level with the ALT modifier key. All the shortcuts are the same, you only need to press ATL + … instead of cmd or Ctrl + …
No Copy Style – there isn’t a Copy Style option. We have only one Copy that copies everything and you decide if you want to paste the whole element or only the style. Of course, Paste Style works only on similar elements.
In order to apply a shortcut, you need to activate the options toolbar for that element or container and then press the keyboard shortcut. I’ll use the mac keyboard in the examples below, only replace cmd with Ctrl if you are on Windows.
Copy (cmd + C) & Paste (cmd + V)
Copy & Paste Style (cmd + shift + V)
Duplicate (cmd + D)
Delete (cmd + delete)
Horizontal & Vertical Alignment (cmd + arrows)
Undo (cmd + Z) & Redo (cmd + shift + Z)
Responsive Zoom In (cmd + -) & out (cmd + +)
Add new block / layout (cmd + shift + A)
We are currently working on a bunch of things, a lot of improvements for features that are already in Brizy but also new features that are a long time coming.
Here are a couple of things that we work on that we plan to launch in the near future:
1. New Block kit – We are implementing right now the new block kit. It comes with a new modern minimalist design style and with a more vibrant color palette. Check out all the blocks in this Sketch prototype.
2. Custom Fonts – we are implementing custom fonts in Brizy as we speak.
3. Form V2. – improvements to Form that will include radio boxes and checkboxes, SMTP settings, Recaptcha)
4. Unsplash & Image optimization. – we have the Unsplash integration in the works plus we are looking into some image optimization.
This is just the beginning, more cool features are coming to Brizy in the following weeks. Please add any suggestions/issues you have on GitHub. Also, consider joining our Facebook community where we discuss all things Brizy every day.
